1327 – Schefflera   arrow

ScheffleraScheffleras are delicate tropical plants often used to decorate public places, such as lobbies, shopping malls and waiting rooms. Smaller scheffleras are better suited for homes and small offices.

Scheffleras require medium to high levels of light. An area that has adequate light for daytime reading works well. Scheffleras prefer temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, but it’s best to keep plants away from forced-air heat vents, radiators, open windows, and air conditioners. Hot and cold drafts will damage plants.

Water scheffleras only when the soil surface is dry, not moist. Water plants thoroughly, until water begins to drain slightly from the bottom. Remove and discard the excess water collected in the bottom of the pot.

Schefflera plants require fertilizer once every two months when grown in high light, and once every three months when grown in medium light. Use a houseplant fertilizer, and be sure to follow the manufacturer’s directions. To avoid plant damage, never apply fertilizer to dry soil.
